Children and Families development worker

Salary: £19,500- £22,500 per annum for full-time, pro-rated for part time; plus generous pension scheme and other benefits

Contract: Part-time - 16 hours

Location: Hybrid - Home/Flemington Hallside Church

WHO WE ARE

Flemington Hallside, is a church of Scotland church located in the Halfway area of Cambuslang. We are part of Glasgow Presbytery. Our Minister is Rev Ian Cathcart. We seek to bring glory to God by growing and nurturing a community of faith, through teaching and prayer, encouraging, inspiring and caring for those around us.

We are seeking a part-time Children and Families worker, to be part of our ministry team alongside our minister and Elders.

PURPOSE

To Co-ordinate and develop our work with children and families in the communities of Halfway, Drumsagard and Newton Farm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Working alongside our minister, Elders, volunteers and where appropriate the Reachout Trust and other local congregations:

Coordinate and develop our existing Sunday groups for primary and preschool age children

Support our existing Messy church events.

Develop the role of children and families within the congregation

Provide a report on the work to the Elders and Minister as required at session meeting

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The successful applicant will work alongside the minister and existing volunteers. Ideally you will have experience of work and with children and families within a church and community setting; someone who has led teams of volunteers and is a confident communicator of Biblical truth with a wide age range of children and adults. You should be willing to work from home, with access to rooms within the church building.

For this post, it is important that you able to demonstrate a commitment to Flemington Hallside’s ethos, working principles and vision. It is also an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.

The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory PVG Scheme Disclosure.
